South Amboy: On Saturday, March 23 – 1 pm, the Dowdell Library will present the family concert “Meet the Orchestra and More,” featuring the City Winds Trio, a professional music chamber group. This will be a wonderful musical experience for families to share! The trio will perform well-known ragtime and classical music and after the performance, the audience will be encouraged to interact with the musicians during a hands-on musical instrument session. In addition, interactive movement and learning games will be offered for children who’d like to participate. The City Winds Trio has been presenting this enjoyable program for more than eleven years at hundreds of locations and has inspired more than 5,000 children to treasure music.
The Dowdell Library of South Amboy serves as a cultural and entertainment center for the community. As part of this goal, the library has been developing innovative programs in the visual and performing arts which will provide a higher level of cultural events free of charge for the community.
The City Winds Trio formed in 2001 and has performed at the prestigious Trinity Church, Cathedral St. John Divine, and St. Paul’s Chapel in New York in addition to weddings and corporate events. Meredyth Coleman (Oboe), Crispian Fordham (Flute), and Yuki Higaski (Bassoon) are professionally trained musicians who travel the world performing. They are a lively and entertaining group not to be missed!
