Remembering 9/11 Patriot Day Interactive Timeline

Interactive timelines chronicle the events of September 11, 2001, the nine-month recovery effort at Ground Zero, and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The timelines use images, audio, and video, as well as first-person accounts from the 9/11 Memorial Museum’s permanent collection.

Please note: The timelines contain some graphic images and sensitive content due to the explicit nature of events surrounding the 1993 bombing and the 9/11 attacks.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation Tribute to the sacrifice and loss of life that was made on September 11, 2001 will take place  on 9/11 and will be held in NYC just south of the memorial plaza, with mask-wearing enforced and podiums being sanitized after each speaker. The lights will shine skyward as always, as will the solemn reading of the names of the victims.

Union Beach, NJ officials are also planning to host a ceremony across the water. On September 11 and 12 from 7 pm to 11 pm, two sets of lights – which can reportedly be seen for miles – will be projected into the sky.
