This month's Tech Corner features the 3D Pen. A 3D pen is a pen that extrudes heated warm plastic from the pen’s nozzle. You don’t need any software or files to transfer! Using the 3D pen is not a difficult tech to master.

Whatever you imagine, you can draw. The 3D Pen is held just like a pencil and the color filament gets fed into the top once the pen heats up to the correct temperature.

Using the pen for the first time takes a little bit of trial and error, but once you're comfortable, you can create amazing objects.

With a 3D pen you can also draw a raised graphic on a piece of paper or any flat surface. What makes a 3D pen truly unique is its ability to “draw” in mid-air, allowing you to instantly form 3D structures, which you can pick up and hold in your hand.

Look out for future 3D pen programs when in-building library programs resume!  Here is a YouTube video showing how the 3D Pen works.
