Celebrate Children's Book Week as we play Book Jeopardy on Wednesday, May 3 from 3-4 pm. See how much you know about book characters, places and objects. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded. 

Calling all Star Wars Fans! Join us on Thursday, May 4 from 3-5 pm as we participate in Star Wars Day or better known as, May the 4th Be With You. We’ll be using out of this world technology for a coding game starring BB-8 and the Makey-Makey to play the piano.

Looking for appetizer ideas for your Memorial Day weekend? Join us on Wednesdays, May 10 and 17 from 3-4 pm for a Culinary Demonstration as we make a warm delicious dip, good for everything from chips to veggies!

Stop by for Music @ Dowdell on Tuesday, May 30 from 6-8 pm with Marc Black, an Eclectic Folk Rocker and NY Chapter Blues Hall of Fame Inductee, as he plays a musical tribute from the 50’s and 60’s. Step back in time and hear some tunes such as “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini,” moving folk songs like Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind,” and many others.

Countdown! Only 46 more days until the 3D Art Contest Closes! After the closing date, entries will be exhibited at South Amboy’s Broadway Gallery at 141 N. Broadway during July - August. The community will have the opportunity to vote for the winners and there will be prizes in each category.

Lastly, our closings for Summer Saturdays runs May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend) through September 3. Don't worry, there's still many online resources that are available 24/7 such as (Hoopla, Rosetta Stone, eLibraryNJ, JerseyClicks
and Zinio) which are all accessible via www.dowdell.org

Join us for Star Wars coding! Guide your BB-8 around the galaxy, collecting scraps of metals to build intergalatical objects while learning to code! Then, use the makey-makey to play Star Wars themed music on the online piano.

 Teens will battle in groups of two until there are two teens left for the final match. A prize will be awarded to the last teen standing!

Learn a language with Rosetta Stone. This vital resource includes 30 languages to meet a range of cultural interests. 

Learning is structured around core lessons to build reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and also includes focused activities to refine grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and more.

Community members can also take advantage of available mobile apps that enable learners to reinforce their language learning wherever they may be.
