This month's Tech Corner features Pokémon Go. This augmented reality (AR) mobile game was developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for Apple and Android devices. Released in July of 2016, the main goal of the game is to find and catch as many Pokémon as possible to fill and complete your Pokedex.

The game uses mobile devices with GPS to locate, capture, train, and battle virtual creatures, which appear as if they are in front of you due to augmented reality. Once you reach level five you're able to choose between three different teams; Mystic, Valor, and Instinct.

Each team has a different color and a legendary Pokémon. Once you choose your team you can't back out; so choose wisely! If your friends also play you can add each other and send gifts everyday to receive items that well help you and your Pokémon as you play.

Starting February 20-March 1, you will have the chance to battle and catch the three legendary Pokémon birds: Articuno the Ice type Pokémon, Zapdos the Electric type Pokémon, and Moltres the Fire type Pokémon. Also, everyone's favorite Pokémon Mewtwo the Psychic type will be joining the list. Make sure you grab your friends because you'll need at least five of them to take down any of these Pokémon. Once you beat them, you will have a random chance that each Pokémon will be in its shiny form, but you will have to participate in many raid battles so don't get discouraged and happy battling!

This game is near and dear to my heart as I have grown up playing a variety of different Pokémon games. Have fun playing this one, and if you go outside to catch Pokémon, please be careful of your surroundings.
